Painting 1 - An old Irish wall, strong and sturdy, Stands the test of time.
Painting 2 - Sometimes a surprising element can cause a slight hollow.
Painting 3 - Sometimes that surprising element can cause a total breakup.
These 3 painting, together, can be displayed in different sequences to show positivity and rebuilding and perfection once again
This is one of my very first landscape paintings. A view of Limerick of the old courthouse, St. John’s Castle situated along the banks of the river Shannon with the Clare Hills in the distance under a blood red sky.
It was also an entry to the tv programme entitled Painting the Nation hosted on RTE 1, in Sept 2016 - 2017. It was not a winner, but can be seen on the RTE 1 webpage still today.
AN CATHAOIR SÚGÁN, 2022. This painting was inspired by Van Gogh’s Chair with Pipe, 1888.
BUTTONS, 2014, This painting was inspired by a Maths programme hosted on RTE.1 called The School of Hard Maths, which was presented by Comedian & Telephone Presenter Dara O’Birian.
MNÁ NA CHRÁNN, 2009, The original painting was inspired by the TT races which I attended as a spectator, held in the Isle of Man, some years ago.
